In aeronautical engineering, success can often be
based on failure — that ability to learn from one’s mistakes and move forward
in a new direction. Non-linear thinking is often part of this and can solve big
problems, but in the bureaucracy of many large corporations, that way of doing
things can take an exponential amount of time and leave the journey from
concept to testable product mired in red tape and conflicting opinions.
